Firewood.com is the web connection for Paul's Fireplace Wood in
Little Falls, MN. This family run business now involves wife Sharon Wilczek as
well as several children.

If
you could only say one thing about Paul Wilczek, it would have to be this - Paul
knows firewood.
Wilczek gravitated to the firewood business 22 years ago.
Always active and outdoorsy, he didn't balk at the chance to clear his own land
of trees to build his first home with wife Sharon. "It was kinda fun," he said.
"It matched me with the outdoors and being physical."
The experience also
left him with a surplus of felled trees, which Wilczek cut into pieces and sold
for firewood. The venture planted a seed in his entrepreneurial brain, and soon
Paul's Fireplace Wood was born.
For most people, the concept of the firewood business
conjures the wholly unspectacular vision of a couple of local guys in an old
pickup truck dropping a load of residential firewood at the back door.
Wilczek's version of the firewood business is
decidedly more...visionary. With eight full time employees and his wife and four
kids helping, Wilczek currently heads a thriving residential and commercial
firewood business that boasts customers throughout the Midwest and from coast to
coast.

Wilczek's commercial clients, including national restaurants such as Famous
Dave's Barbecue, Filio's, come to Wilczek for premium specialty woods,
consistent products and dependable service. He also ships semi-loads of wood to
campgrounds, whose forests and trees are often protected from tourists and
campers.
"Years ago you could go to a campsite and pick up branches,"
Wilczek said. "As the trees disappear and people damage the trees, you do not
cut a branch off a state park tree. You can go to jail for it." Wilczek added
that the firewood he sells is a renewable resource, harvested in accord with
good forest management principles.
These days Wilczek is hoping to reach an even broader audience through the
web and e-commerce. His online firewood store offers specialty woods such as
birch logs, pinion pine, and flavorful barbecue wood for smokers or
grills.
Wilczek uses his own products daily, but would be hard
pressed to pick a favorite. "I like oak for the longevity, he said. "But I like
birch and ash and maple just for the treat."
